12 year old Isobel Harwood's story about a girl's friendship growing up with the boy next door, her delight in his deep knowledge of history and his ability to bring it alive in their games together and their transition to secondary school against the pressure of new friends and teasing is a delightful and life-affirming story. The story was read out live by musician Will Smith Live from the Hay Literary Festival and will be published in the Telegraph tomorrow. 74,000 stories were submitted to the Radio 2 competition and can be read here.
