Transforming autism education: a national integrated programme

In 2011 the Autism Education Trust was awarded £1.2 million for a two year national programme from the Department for Education. The programme focuses on building skills in the school work force to meet the needs of children and young people with autism.

The programme is now in full swing with all the materials having been developed by the Autism Centre for Education Research team (ACER) at University of Birmingham and the training programme proceeding at full steam with delivery through 7 training hubs across England. Over 8,000 professionals have been trained or are booked for training already.

Two one-day events will be held in London and Birmingham. The conferences are intended for school and Local authority leaders who coordinate and lead CPD. The events programme is as folows:

The events are on February 7th (London) and March 7th (University of Birmingham). They are free and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
