Meet the AET team at The Education Show

 04/03/10

Stand E74, NEC Birmingham 4 – 6 March 2010

The Autism Education Trust (AET) is exhibiting at The Education Show from 4 – 6 March 2010 at the NEC, Birmingham (Stand E74). Visitors to the show will be able to find out more about the work of the AET, gather resources specifically tailored for education professionals working with children and young people on the autism spectrum and watch films produced by members of the AET Youth Council – young people on the autism spectrum involved in the work and development of the AET.

NEW for the show will be a concise resource for teachers called A child with ASD in your class? which will cover the main issues to consider when teaching a child or young person on the autism spectrum. It gives some general information about autism as well as practical and achievable teaching methods to help teachers understand the individual and enable effective learning in the classroom.

Also NEW will be an easy-read version of the AET summary leaflet Autism: facing the challenge which covers the main findings of AET research conducted in 2008 by The Autism Centre for Education and Research at the University of Birmingham. The new easy-read version will make the research more accessible to children and young people on the autism spectrum. Further easy-read versions of AET publications are in development.

Youth Council films will be shown on the stand throughout the show. Visit us at Stand E74 to find out more about how the AET can help you and your school or visit The Education Show.
