Good practice presentations now available online
07/07/09
Downloadable presentations from a broad range of professionals who work closely with children and young people on the autism spectrum are now available on the AET website, as part of the AET’s aim to promote and share examples of good autism education practice.
The resources are free to download and will be relevant to anyone with an interest in autism education. They include one from the Rotherham Autism Communication Team, who showed how they created a pilot scheme of social groups for pupils on the autism spectrum in secondary schools. Topics covered in other presentations include person centred planning, ASD resourced provision in a mainstream context and tackling transition without tears.
The presentations were given at the series of AET events held earlier in the year, beginning with the Trust’s first National Conference in February. They were well received by attendees who commented the events were “stimulating and thought provoking”, “much-needed” and offered “loads of ideas to take away”. Following this overwhelmingly positive feedback from delegates at all seven events, it was agreed that it would be useful to make the presentations available to all online.
They can be downloaded from the resources section of the
website
