National Autistic Society calls on young people at school

The National Autistic Society has launched a survey to find out what children and young people think about school.

The survey is for any child or young person aged 19 or younger who is on the autism spectrum. It covers all aspects of school including general happiness and wellbeing, safety, friends, learning, teachers, general assistance, and how school might be made better.

The survey closes on Wednesday 6th April 2011.

The findings of the survey will be used to help the NAS campaign to improve education provision for children and young people on the autism spectrum and advise the government on what children and young people think about school and proposals to change the SEN system.

Findings will be published in a report later this year.

The NAS have also issued a survey of parents of children and young people with autism, which is available to members of the NAS.  If you would like to take part, you can join the NAS here. http://www.autism.org.uk/en-gb/get-involved/become-member.aspx
