AET Early Years Module 1 Making Sense of Autism

16th January 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm GMT

Daisy Chain was founded in 2003 and was established to provide a haven for families affected by autism in the Tees Valley. We are delighted to be able to provide this course to the North East region.

All participants will be able to:

  • identify the four key areas of difference that need to be taken into account when working with children on the autism spectrum.
  • know the importance of understanding the individual child on the autism spectrum and their profile of strengths and weaknesses.
  • identify the key areas to help children on the autism spectrum build positive relationships with staff and their peers.
  • know that many children on the autism spectrum can be unusually sensitive to everyday sights, sounds, touch, tastes and smells. This can affect their learning and emotional state.

This training will provide basic autism awareness training for all staff in all early years settings, whether or not they work directly with children with autism.

Attendees are encouraged to book individually to gain individual access to the materials provided once the booking is completed. You can pay by direct bank transfer, Paypal or cheque (if you choose bank transfer or cheque, an invoice will be created by the AET and sent to you.)
