Learning objectives

This training should develop delegate’s basic understanding of autism and help them to:

  • Identify the four key areas of difference that need i be taken into account when working with pupils on the autism spectrum.
  • Know the importance of understanding the individual pupil and their profile of strengths and areas of development.
  • Identify the key areas to help pupils on the autism spectrum build positive relationships with staff, peers and people in their community.
  • Develop an awareness of the sensory and community differences that pupil may experience.
  • it is important to note here however that everyone on the autism spectrum is different.
