Are you interested in helping us make the ordinary possible for children and young people who are autistic?

Here at Ambitious about Autism, we are working with the Autism Education Trust for a Participations Assistant! We encourage applications from disabled candidates including those on the Autistic Spectrum.

Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for children and young people with autism. We provide services, raise awareness and understanding as well as campaign for change. We provide specialist education to autistic children and young people aged 4-25 years old and we support the transition from education to employment through our innovative employability programme, Employ Autism.

The Autism Education Trust (AET) Participation Assistant will be accountable for supporting young autistic people to have their voices heard and influence change specifically through the AET Young People’s Panel. The role will be managed by the Participation Programme Manager at Ambitious about Autism, and will receive regular joint supervision and support from the AET Director.

You will play a key role in:

  • Support the development and delivery of the participation programmes against agreed targets
  • Support the running of the Ambitious Youth Network, working with the team and sessional support to ensure a calendar of sessions and appropriate staff presence to safeguard autistic children and young people.
  • Support the Youth Patrons to develop their confidence and skills in influencing change and have their voice heard on the things that matter to them

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual who enjoys working as part of a high–performing team with an open and collaborative culture.
