BRAND NEW: Wales Professional Development Programme (PDP)

The Autism Education Trust's (AET) new Professional Development Programme for Wales is a unique, CPD-accredited autism training initiative.

The Programme aims to create a lasting culture change in how schools support autistic pupils.

It has been co-produced with parents, professionals, and a panel of autistic young people, ensuring it reflects the lived experience and needs of Welsh young people and professionals.

The Programme package offers tailored training modules and framework documents to support practice, and covers educational phases from early years through to schools.

Training is delivered by local AET Partners, either face-to-face or virtually, using a variety of engaging teaching methods as part of a school or setting’s ongoing CPD.

This work forms part of the AET’s wider strategic focus in Wales, where we are working collaboratively with several local authorities—including our valued partnership with Monmouthshire—to deliver long-term, sustainable change.

We look forward to welcoming many other Welsh Local Authorities to join our Welsh Partner Network, including Cardiff, Flintshire, Torfaen & Powys in the coming months.
