Spotlight on Wales: AET Partnership Work Showcased at National Education Show
The Autism Education Trust (AET) is proud to spotlight the important work taking place across Wales as part of our commitment to improving educational outcomes for autistic children and young people.
At the upcoming National Education Show in Llandudno on Friday 13 June 2025, Monmouthshire County Council will be sharing insights from our ongoing partnership work, alongside developments from the AET Wales Professional Development Programme (PDP). This pioneering culture-change Programme is tailored to the Welsh context and supports education professionals to develop inclusive, autism-awareness practice grounded in the latest research and lived experience.
Attendees of the show can join two insightful seminars:
- Difference Not Deficit: The AET’s Approach to Good Autism Practice which explores how the AET’s nationally recognised framework and resources are supporting practitioners across Wales to embed good autism practice and promote inclusive learning environments.
- Autistic Young Experts: The Importance of Centering Lived Experience highlighting how autistic young people are shaping professional development and influencing practice through direct participation and co-production.
This work forms part of the AET’s wider strategic focus in Wales, where we are working collaboratively with several local authorities—including our valued partnership with Monmouthshire—to deliver long-term, sustainable change.
We look forward to welcoming many other Welsh Local Authorities to join our Welsh Partner Network, including Cardiff, Flintshire, Torfaen & Powys.
