Our free Trainer Development sessions are delivered by a range of expert guest speakers, partners, and organisations in order to support you in your role as AET Trainers.
Following feedback, we have made some slight changes to timetable for these sessions. Live trainer development sessions will now run once per half term x6 per academic year from 2025-2026 and will be recorded.
Sessions will continue to be held on Tuesdays 11am - 12.30pm.

Next Session: Tuesday 7th October 2025 11am - 12.30pm - Autistic Women and Girls -Jess Hendrickx - Autism Diagnostician, Author and Trainer

Jess is a late diagnosed autistic/ADHD woman who runs a training, support and assessment business called Hendrickx Associates as well as an author with two published books including 'Women and Girls on the Autism spectrum (2nd edition). During this session, Jess will share her own experiences in education as an autistic learner with undiagnosed ADHD at the time. She will discuss the research relating to autistic women and girls and helpful strategies and approaches, including topics such as masking, anxiety, mental health and eating disorders.

Autumn 2:
Tuesday 2nd December 2025 11am - 12.30pm - NAS Evidence Reviews – Autism and Education -Matthew Swindells - Evidence and Knowledge Manager at the National Autistic Society
In this session, Matthew will share how his team at the NAS develop evidence-based reviews on autism topics that review, analyse and summarise the latest research, professional practice and personal accounts of autistic people, parents and carers. Matthew will also discuss their latest evidence review on Autism and Education, giving an overview of the key themes and findings. There will be time for questions and discussion towards the end of the session as usual.
Spring 1:
Tuesday 3rd February 2026 11am-12.30pm - Understanding and Supporting Autism & ADHD (AuDHD) - Dr Annie Clements - founder, Autism and ADHD social enterprise
In this session, Annie will discuss the implications of dual diagnosis and supportive strategies that can be used across the education phases from a number of perspectives - recent research and data and her own lived and learnt experiences.
Spring 2:
Tuesday 3rd March 2026 11am - 12.30pm - AI to support Autistic Learners - Al Kingsley
